LASIK

So today is KIND OF a monumental day in my life.

[last days in glasses]

I’ve worn glasses since 3rd grade — yes, that girl with the bug glasses, bangs and buck teeth? That was me. I’ve grown a bit from there, but today I am undergoing LASIK. After 17 years of glasses and contacts, they will now be in my past (hopefully?). From people that have had LASIK I’ve heard a lot of “best decision of my life.” I’m hoping for similar results. In truth, I’m hoping to come out with 20/15 or supervision as I call it but 20/20? That would be a-ok with me.

As much as the doctors and nurses and everyone and their mother has told me what to expect — I really have no idea. Will I bounce back the same day? Will my eyes be tired? Who knows. I can confirm that I am nervous and anxious and I don’t want to burn out my “new eyes” so I’m going to be taking a little hiatus from thetwentysixthyear. I’ll be back soon [I PROMISE!!!] so in the meantime…

WISH ME LUCK!!

About thetwentysixthyear

September 6, 2011: I turn twenty-six years old. I live and work in downtown Chicago and really can't complain about too much -- great family, great friends, great life. So this is my personal blog. Experiencing and living my twenty-sixth year. I have no idea what to expect or where I'll be one year from now ... but one thing is certain: I will enjoy the ride.
