Ladies Day #chicago

My Gram loves Chicago.

She loves shopping.

She has a deep love for the Walnut Room at Macy’s on State Street.

And now you know how I am who I am. But that’s not the point of this post. As I get older, I become more and more obsessed with my family … including my amazing, beautiful Gram. So we took these loves of Gram’s and created what I have donned “Ladies Day!” After a relaxing morning, we headed to the city for a day of shopping and touring with a special late lunch planned for The Walnut Room. After doing some serious damage at Nordstrom’s we decided to check out the Christmas Tree in Daley Plaza.

It is not just a tree, but an entire Christkindlmarket full of German goods, treats and … Original Sternthaler Glühwein. Hot spiced wine. That comes in cute little cups. After admiring the tree and enjoying the tunes from the band, we had to indulge in some Glühwein.

[aww so precious!]

Once our toes were numb, we headed to Macy’s where our plans for a fancy Walnut Room lunch were interrupted by the psychotic 6 hour wait (fail). We admired the Christmas tree then opted for the more casual InField’s. It’s ok, we always have next year.

An amazing day with amazing ladies in an amazing city. UM … AMAZING??!

About thetwentysixthyear

September 6, 2011: I turn twenty-six years old. I live and work in downtown Chicago and really can't complain about too much -- great family, great friends, great life. So this is my personal blog. Experiencing and living my twenty-sixth year. I have no idea what to expect or where I'll be one year from now ... but one thing is certain: I will enjoy the ride.
