Once a year.
Day after Thanksgiving.
Retailers + Shoppers.
This isn’t a joke. My uncle experienced his first ever Black Friday this year and walked away with a massive bruise on his back.
My Mom, Aunt Gayle and Gram have participated in Black Friday since I can remember. When I was younger, my Dad, Uncle Tom, and Papa would “babysit” my cousins and me when the ladies shopped — in other words, we would rent all the movies our moms would never let us rent 🙂 The past 4 years, I’ve participated in Black Friday shopping; however, I usually peace out by noon for a nap.
This year Black Friday started on Thursday (wtf?). We left Thanksgiving around 9:30pm and headed to Walmart, which technically opened at 10pm. Walmart always draws an interesting crowd and it’s like that same crowd on steroids for this annual shopping holiday. After collecting gifts there, we were on our way to Best Buy which was set to open at 12am (waited outside for over an hour). Check out our adventure here:
[warning: this video is not my best work … hmm dizzy]
The verdict: we crushed it Thursday evening.
I was down for the count until 10am on Friday. But Mom (the warrior) was up at 5am to hit up Macy’s, Carsons and other stores with doorbusters … crazy.
Did you participate? Any stories? I love a good story.
