I’m obsessed with … Megan

Megan.

I’m obsessed with her.

My best friend from high school and growing up in Bettendorf, Iowa. We met through Park Board softball around the age of 8 and became besties around the age of 12. While distance separated us for 4 years during college, we’re back together in Chicago and, as you can see, not much has changed:

She’s loyal, confident, down-to-earth, hilarious and beautiful. She also serves as my personal stylist when duty calls. Trust me — you’d be obsessed with her too. Back in 2008 I had the opportunity to serve as her Maid of Honor — one of the best experiences of my life. Pick your poison:

While we’ve been through good, bad and ugly together — I know that she will always be there for me, more like a sister than a friend. Recently, I’ve enjoyed sharing common obsessions with her including but not limited to Pinterest and BLOGGING!! She recently published a blog The Thread Affect, dealing with all things style, decor, entertaining, travel and life.

Drumroll PLEEEEEEEEEASE…

Once a month we’ll be having a competition. thetwentysixthyear v. The Thread Affect. Down’n’dirty. No holds barred. The first challenge date is coming up on Thursday, December 1 so stay tuned. HOLLER.

Back on track. Let’s do a quick recap. Megan = obsessed. The Thread Affect = obsessed. THE challenge = obsessed.

I’ll leave you with a prom photo, circa 2004. Boom.

About thetwentysixthyear

September 6, 2011: I turn twenty-six years old. I live and work in downtown Chicago and really can't complain about too much -- great family, great friends, great life. So this is my personal blog. Experiencing and living my twenty-sixth year. I have no idea what to expect or where I'll be one year from now ... but one thing is certain: I will enjoy the ride.
